If you live in our area, we would be happy to provide a free initial phone consultation. It is very important that you feel comfortable with whoever you may work with, and the free consultation gives you the opportunity to find out more without any obligation or cost.   You may find that therapy is more affordable than you thought.  Even if you don't think therapy is what you need, we would be happy to talk to you briefly about resources that may be helpful to you in solving your problems.

How long is free phone consultation?

Usually they last up to 15 minutes, but we may talk longer if we have the time available.

What times are free consultations scheduled?

Usually clients just call the office and leave a message with the secretary and a therapist calls you back that same day whenever she has a break between clients.  However, if you need to schedule a particular time, let the secretary know what time you are available and we may be able to accommodate you. 

What should I expect from a free consultation?

A consultation is not counseling and should not be expected to fully solve a problem.  What you can expect is to share some information about what you are worried about, to find out whether this is in issue that is right for therapy or something  you may not really need to keep worrying about, and to find out whether we have the services that would be a good fit for your needs.   Don't hesitate to ask anything about our training, philosophy, or personal beliefs that might affect whether which therapist is the right therapist for you.
